Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring

Behind the scenes...

The photographs you see on our website and in our brochure tell a story. The mood is whimsical and slightly dreamy, calling up summer woodlands, Miami pool-side, a Jubilee street party...

But behind the scenes what do we spy? What can we hear? Whispering, giggling, chattering! And what do we see - these poised and polished little girls dressing up, being silly, pulling funny faces?!

In other words - girls will be girls! See for yourselves!

Win a Palm Tank Top!

Can you just see your gorgeous girl in this grey cotton knitted tank with a silver intarsia palm tree? It has a cute racer back and is ideal to wear on its own, as shown, or over a t-shirt on a chilly day.

To be in with a chance to win one in your little girl's size, all you have to do is make a mini box garden with your child(ren) and post a picture on our Facebook page! The competition ends on Sunday 25th March at midnight GMT and we'll choose a winner from the entries on Monday morning.

Get busy and good luck!

Make a mini box garden!

Here's a lovely project for you to make together, while the weather is good, go outside and collect 'ingredients' to make your tiny garden beautiful!

What you will need:

A small waterproof box - vegetable and fruit boxes from the supermarket are ideal
Compost or garden soil
A shell to make a pond
Twigs, matchsticks, lolly sticks - these could make a sweet picket fence
Small stones or sand for pathways
Maybe some bendy willow to make archways or wigwams
Buds, berries, blossoms from the garden
A couple of little friends to play in the garden, we chose a pig and a dog!

Take a look at our pictures for inspiration - would you like a pig in an orchard? A shell-pond with floating blossoms? Maybe a tiny vegetable garden, a patch full of scented pink blossoms. We thought last year's sedum flower heads look like trees giving scale to the little garden beneath....

Have a go - make your own - and post your pictures on our Facebook page, there'll be a prize for the winner!

Have a sweet weekend!

A couple of ideas for the coming weekend, which promises to be lovely according to the weatherman (at least here in England!):

Spend some time making a simple sweet treat - only five ingredients needed to make delicious coconut ice. We love the idea of adding some raspberry puree, or freeze-dried raspberry or strawberry pieces to one of the layers too, a fruity twist to this no-cook classic to make with the children!

And why not take a spring walk? Up here in Yorkshire we have the choice of some of the most stunning scenery in the country, with our HQ nestled in the Yorkshire Dales, not too far from the North Yorkshire Moors and the dramatic Yorkshire coast, we're lucky to be able to enjoy it all practically on our doorstep!

Here are some ideas for elsewhere in the British Isles from The Telegraph Travel website and The Ramblers (via The Guardian website). Wherever you spend the weekend - enjoy the spring weather, and we'd love it if you sent us a lovely spring picture, via our Facebook page!
