Gorgeous on Monday... Little Chairs

We recently received the most wonderful little chair for our ilovegorgeous... shop, upholstered in our favourite hot pink colour.

A new venture, Little Chairs, used some of our Autumn/Winter '11 dresses for a photo shoot to launch their company. Take a look at the delicious pink chair, and also a preview of three of our pretty dresses, available from September.

Here's a bit more information about Little Chairs - in their own words...

Arabella Hampson, designer and owner of Little Chairs, had the idea for the company after she had her own children:  "My husband gave Rufus (now 3) a chair that he had had as a child -  a miniature armchair.  We had it re-covered and Rufus and his friends all adored it.  So of course when Kitty came along (9 months now), we had to have a chair made especially for her.”

Arabella was surprised that she couldn’t find anything of the highest quality, using the best fabrics, and made in England, to buy for Kitty, so she set about finding the right people to work with, and started making her own. She found that the best furniture-makers were right on her doorstep, and she sourced the most beautiful fabrics with which to cover the chairs.

Little Chairs is the only company in the UK solely making these upholstered armchairs in children’s sizes, which make a very special gift for christenings and birthdays, because they are stylish, sentimental and, very importantly, sustainable.

Arabella Hampson, owner of Little Chairs, says: “ Our chairs are built to last and make perfect heirlooms to be handed down through the generations.  But they are also statement pieces for those who are passionate about interior design: unique miniature chairs with maximum impact that look stylish and original.  We think that our chairs will provide a talking point for guests and look great in any room; not just in a nursery or child’s bedroom.”

The chairs are each named after a Derbyshire stately home (there is also a daybed; the Chatsworth.)   They are available from www.little-chairs.com
